WE BUY BOOKS AND AUDIO BOOKS ON CD
We buy gently-read books from our customers. Books must pass two tests:
-
Books should meet the criteria for "gently-read" status (click that if you're not sure what "gently-read" means); and,
-
Books should meet the needs of our inventory. (In other words, if we already have multiple copies
of a book that you bring to us, we will be less inclined to accept it than we would for a book we don't have).
We buy audio books on CD (sorry, we no longer carry nor buy audio books on casette tape). We examine each audio book and evaluate it on its own merits. We no longer accept VHS or DVD movies, and plan to eliminate our existing stock this summer.
We also do not accept text books, encyclopedias, book club editions, condensed books, computer software or hardware manuals, or other books that will not fit into our paradigm.
We will offer you a fair cash price for the books that we can accept, or you may double your value by accepting twice as much in store credits towards future purchases.
Sorry - but we must see your books to give you a quote; we do not give internet or telephone quotes for books sight-unseen.
NO APPOINTMENTS NEEDED! You may bring in your books and browse while we go through them, or you may leave them with your name and phone number, and we will call you after we've gone through them and extend to you an offer on those books we can use. [You may need to leave the books if we have a new employee and a buyer is not present, so if you're not good with that, then you should probably call ahead to determine that a buyer will be at the store when you plan to come in.] Please note that books left with us more than 3 days after we've tried to contact you will be considered abandoned ... we just don't have the surplus space.
We no longer buy books at the State Fairgrounds Store.
